Information on Mental Health Support

Mental Health issues and concerns are more widespread than people wish to admit or accept, affecting 1 in 4 of us. Most don't get the help they need. We are all different and as such, what helps us will vary for each of us. Below are links to organisations that can provide confidential HELP and SUPPORT

My personal thoughts

Generally, as a society, I think we are improving in being able to discuss any issues in an open and non-judgemental way, but there is still stigma and an element of taboo surrounding this area. Sometimes the barrier to being open is self-imposed and I believe that positive change and openness starts with being honest with ourselves.

I have chosen to share my thoughts and my work in a hope of encouraging more openness, and if anything here resonates or gives anyone some food for thought, then that is a bonus over and above any personal benefit I get.

CALM

Helping people end their misery, not their lives People who feel suicidal will often say that they don’t want to die - they want the pain and misery they’re experiencing to end.

But when you’re struggling, you often can’t see a way out. You see suicide as the only option. But we know it’s not. We know there’s always a reason to stay.

That’s why our mission is to help people end their misery, not their lives.
