A walk in the park
As an idiom, isn’t really reflective of the afternoon I’ve just had
In reality the seasons are now more reflective of how life is
Month to month, week to week, day to day
Even by the hour, we don’t know what we’re going to get
This one simple walk in the park
A testimony to all four seasons
It started out in glorious sunshine, as a summer’s day should be
Then taking me by surprise, a short lived deluge
Reminiscent of April showers, pushing me back into spring
A rainbow appears
Promising a pot of golden sunshine for the rest of the day
Then as I change direction around a lake, a strong wind meets me head on
The air is noticeable cooler, the blustery wind has a damp autumnal feel
High above in rarefied cold air, dark threatening clouds congregate
Rain starts to fall, clustered together as harsh wintery hail
My head becomes numb
How long have I actually been out here?
