Sometimes out of habit we naturally mask our feelings

With automatic responses when asked how we are

It’s how we greet and open conversations

Hi, how are you doing

Fine thanks, how are you

It’s usually not a genuine enquiry

We are to a degree automated

Both in enquiry and response

The mouth opens and moves while the ears remain firmly closed

Habitually transmitting without reception

It’s all unintentional, so never taken as being rude

Just words, not intended to really find out how you are

Sometimes, even if something is detected

Others will just label it as moody and briefly file it that way
